Chaar Sahibzade – The Four Sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji

The Chaar Sahibzade—Baba Ajit Singh Ji, Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, and Baba Fateh Singh Ji—hold a special place in Sikh history. They were the beloved sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, and are remembered for their extraordinary courage, unwavering faith, and supreme sacrifice in the face of tyranny.

1. Baba Ajit Singh Ji (1687–1705)

Baba Ajit Singh Ji, the eldest son, was a brave warrior from a young age. He fought valiantly alongside his father in battles against oppression and injustice. He embraced martyrdom with courage during the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, defending the principles of Sikhism and protecting the honor of his faith.

2. Baba Jujhar Singh Ji (1691–1705)

The second son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, also displayed remarkable valor and fearlessness. Alongside his elder brother Baba Ajit Singh Ji, he fought in the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, sacrificing his life at the young age of 14 for righteousness and the Sikh cause.

3. Baba Zorawar Singh Ji (1696–1705)

Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, the third son, was only 9 years old when he, along with his younger brother Baba Fateh Singh Ji, was captured by the Mughal forces. Despite his tender age, he stood firm in his faith, refusing to convert to Islam, and was brutally executed for his unwavering devotion.

4. Baba Fateh Singh Ji (1699–1705)

The youngest of the Chaar Sahibzade, Baba Fateh Singh Ji, was just 6 years old at the time of his martyrdom. Along with his brother Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, he remained steadfast in his faith even under extreme pressure and was executed for refusing to abandon Sikhism. His sacrifice is a testament to innocence, courage, and devotion.

Martyrdom and Legacy

The sacrifices of the Chaar Sahibzade symbolize the Sikh spirit of fearlessness, righteousness, and devotion to truth. They fought and died to protect their faith, their people, and the principles established by their father, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
