A place of Peace, Sewa and Simran

About Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji

Guru Ram Das Ji (1534–1581), the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, is remembered as a living embodiment of humility, compassion, and divine grace. He founded the holy city of Amritsar, which became the spiritual heart of Sikhism, and began the construction of the Sarovar (holy tank) around which the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) was later built. Guru Ram Das Ji composed beautiful Gurbani hymns that guide seekers toward love, peace, and remembrance of Waheguru. His teachings emphasize Seva (selfless service), Sangat (holy company), and Simran (meditation on God’s Name) — principles that continue to inspire the Sikh way of life. Through his life and message, Guru Ram Das Ji showed that true devotion is expressed through humility, service to humanity, and constant remembrance of the Divine. His words remind us: “One who calls himself a Sikh of the True Guru shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Name of the Lord.” – Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 305 At Gurudwara Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji, we strive to carry forward this spirit — creating a space where everyone, regardless of background, can experience peace, belonging, and spiritual growth in the light of the Guru’s wisdom.

Learn Sikhism

Sikhism is a way of life founded on the principles of truth, equality, humility, and love. It teaches us to remember Waheguru in every moment, earn an honest living, and share what we have with others. The Gurus showed that spirituality is not separate from daily life — it is lived through kindness, service (Sewa), and devotion (Simran). Sikhism rejects discrimination of any kind and embraces the belief that all human beings are equal in the eyes of God. The teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the eternal Guru of the Sikhs, guide us towards inner peace and service to humanity. At Gurudwara Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji, we invite everyone to learn, reflect, and walk the path of Sikhism — a path of compassion, courage, and universal brotherhood.
