Gurughar Services
Daily Prayers
Our Gurudwara opens its doors each day for prayer and reflection, offering the community a sacred space to connect with Waheguru through Gurbani and Simran. The Morning Prayer is held from 5:30 am to 7:00 am, welcoming the dawn with gratitude and devotion, while the Evening Prayer, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, provides a peaceful close to the day. These daily sessions allow individuals and families to come together in Sangat, strengthening their spiritual connection and finding inner peace through the divine words of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Gurbani Kirtan
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, the sacred service of Gurbani Kirtan is performed with deep devotion and reverence. Every day, the divine hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji are sung by Raagis and members of the Sangat, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere filled with peace and harmony. The soothing sounds of Kirtan help devotees connect with the teachings of the Gurus and experience the divine presence of Waheguru. This sacred practice not only inspires reflection and inner peace but also strengthens the sense of unity and devotion within the community.
Langar Sewa
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, the sacred tradition of Langar Sewa is carried out with love, humility, and devotion. Freshly prepared vegetarian meals are served to everyone, regardless of background, caste, or religion, symbolizing equality and selfless service — the core teachings of Sikhism. Volunteers (Sewadars) joyfully prepare, serve, and clean as an act of devotion and gratitude to Waheguru. The Langar at the Gurudwara reflects the spirit of community, compassion, and togetherness, ensuring that every visitor is welcomed and nourished both physically and spiritually.
Daily Hukamnama
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, the Daily Hukamnama is taken with utmost respect and devotion from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Hukamnama, or divine order of the day, is read aloud to guide the Sangat with the Guru’s wisdom and blessings. It serves as a spiritual message and inspiration for daily living, encouraging reflection on the teachings of the Gurus. Through the Daily Hukamnama, devotees find peace, direction, and a deeper connection with Waheguru, beginning their day with faith and gratitude.
Anand Karaj
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, the sacred ceremony of Anand Karaj — the Sikh marriage — is performed in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This beautiful and spiritual union is centered on the teachings of the Guru, symbolizing the oneness of two souls joined in love, faith, and devotion to Waheguru. The couple takes four Laavaan (circumambulations) around the Guru, each representing a step towards spiritual growth and harmony in married life. The Gurudwara provides a serene and blessed environment for families to come together and celebrate this divine bond with prayers, Kirtan, and joy.
Turban Classes
The turban (Dastar) is a symbol of honor, faith, and Sikh identity. Our Gurudwara offers Turban Tying Classes to help individuals of all ages learn the proper and graceful way to tie a turban with respect and confidence.
Experienced sevadars (volunteers) guide participants through different styles and techniques while sharing the spiritual significance behind this sacred tradition. All are welcome to join — no prior experience needed. Come learn, practice, and take pride in wearing the Dastar with dignity.
Shabad Classes
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, Shabad Kirtan classes are held to teach the sacred art of singing hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with devotion and understanding. These classes help participants, especially children and youth, learn the meanings, pronunciation, and musical aspects of Gurbani. Guided by experienced teachers and Raagis, students develop skills in traditional raags, instruments, and vocal techniques while deepening their connection to Sikh spirituality. Through these classes, the Sangat nurtures love for Gurbani, strengthens faith, and carries forward the beautiful tradition of Shabad Kirtan with dedication and reverence.
Gatka Classes
At Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji Gurudwara, Gatka classes are conducted to promote the rich martial heritage and spiritual discipline of the Sikh tradition. Gatka, the traditional Sikh martial art, teaches self-defense, balance, and courage while fostering humility and inner strength. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students learn weapon techniques, physical fitness, and the values of respect, discipline, and Seva. These classes help participants, especially the youth, stay connected to their faith, culture, and the warrior spirit of the Khalsa — serving as a powerful blend of physical training and spiritual growth. These classes are held every Sunday from 3 pm to 4 pm. Please contact us to know more.
Music Classes
Our Gurdwara offers Gurbani Kirtan classes to help children and adults connect with the divine through the sacred art of music. Students learn to sing Shabads with correct pronunciation and understanding, accompanied by harmonium and tabla. These classes nurture spiritual growth, discipline, and a deep love for Gurbani in every participant. Along with musical training, students also learn the meanings and messages within the hymns, enriching their connection to Sikhi. The classes are open to all levels — from beginners discovering Kirtan for the first time to those wishing to refine their skills. Through collective practice and Sangat, we aim to keep the tradition of Gurbani Sangeet alive for future generations.
